Hey all.
Who here has worked on developing their mindset when it comes property (or other) investing.
Over the years, I've read numerous self help/positive thinking, etc type of books, but I think that most reach their goals just using their own 'grey matter'.
Sure, there may be a trigger for some to start the journey, but I believe that your mindset grows with experience in what you are seeking out.
Is there anyone here that can say, they got further ahead by developing their mindset or do you think you are where you are at because you had the nerve to just 'have a go'.
What seperates the real go-getters from the just ambling along type? Is it mindset or something else that is just hardwired into the individual?
Regards
Marty

In general terms I find that you can plan only so much for some projects. The rest of the plan evolves as the project progresses. So sometimes the hardest part is accepting that the plan cannot progress until the work starts. Overcome the fear of an incomplete plan, make the first step and then you will see what the plan needs to be.
So I would agree that "having a go" is probably the best way to move forward and develop the correct mindset for a task.

I think mindset or attitude has a huge part to play in your success. But attitude will only get you so far and it should not be confused with ability. Attitude without ability is useless. Ability is something that you would need to work on to get to your goal. It is like hardwiring a pathway to success when all your past experiences say otherwise. I speak from experience. A year ago, I was the sort of person that could have pulled out all my savings from the bank and buried it in a black bag in my back yard. Any debt of any sort was frowned upon. Today I have 10 IP's and going strong. Once the ability comes, the attitude is the catalyst that will keep it going. That is what distinguishes the go getters from the doers. A positive attitude can completely change things around. That is my 10c worth. Good question.

Wow, 10 IP's in a year. That's awesome. Care to share a bit more on how you accumulated so quickly. Sounds like you really had a mindset shift.
