A WAKE UP CALL FOR YOUR LIFE
What does 4,000 mean to you?
4,000 is the number of weeks you will have lived by the age of 80. It’s not a lot really.
Sadly, many people don’t make it this far – so they have even less time.
But, say you do live to 80, this means you have 4,000 weeks at your disposal to live any which way you want – right? Wrong…
CHILDHOOD – 1,000 WEEKS
From the ages of 0 to about 20, you spend your life learning, developing, experimenting and dreaming.
You’re having a great time (except for hating your parents) until you are thrust into the ‘real world’.
Suddenly you face the harsh reality of survival. Goodbye fun times and dreams, hello 9-5 job.
MIDDLE LIFE – 2,000 WEEKS
From the ages of 20 to 60 you have 40 years in which you may start a career, get married, start a family and hopefully buy a house.
As a kid you couldn’t wait to grow up. Unfortunately, many people don’t feel so enthusiastic about their lives at this stage.
Most people feel bogged down and stuck in their jobs. Many people don’t even enjoy their jobs – yet, they have to work, work, work for the majority of their time. They do this to provide for their families and have somewhere to live.
If you earn an average of $50,000 a year throughout your working life, you will have made $2 million by retirement.
“People are selling their life for as $2 million!” laments Nathan Birch.
They won’t have much to show for it. Most of this will be spent on food, shelter, utilities and scores of other expenses to make life endurable during those years.
RETIREMENT – 1,000 WEEKS
From around 60 to 80 – the last 20 years of your life – you get to leave the workforce and enjoy having as much free time as you want.
Unfortunately, during this time, your health may start to falter, preventing you from doing many of the things you dreamed of doing when you were at work each day.
If the $50,000 a year you survived on throughout work was difficult to live on, then the pension will leave little room for leisure.
“That’s when you want to be enjoying yourself but people can’t if you are just getting by! I don’t even want to think about it, it’s so depressing!” says Nathan Birch.
WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO NOT WORK FOR THE NEXT 40 YEARS?
That $2 million in lifetime income you earned didn’t last to retirement – even though you spent most of your time slaving away for it.
If you built a property portfolio of ten properties that you purchased for $200,000 each, and then they doubled in value over the course of ten years, your portfolio could be worth $4 million.
That means, you would have made $2 million on those properties – in just ten years.
If each of the properties rented for around $300 a week, then your portfolio would be neutral cash flow, and you wouldn’t need to put your own earnings into holding them.
They would just be sitting there, doing their thing while you went to work each day, knowing that you have a way out to Exit The Matrix.
TAKING ACTION TO EXIT THE MATRIX
If you want to reclaim the 3,000 weeks – the middle and late part of your life – and enjoy them instead of slaving at work, it is essential to take action ASAP.
You need to start thinking about the important things in your life, like how am I going to get out of the rat race.
You need to think outside the square and find a better way to create wealth and cash flow before you hit retirement age, so you can enjoy your life while you are still young.
Do you feel stuck in the matrix? What would you do with 3,000 weeks to live life on your terms?
